Microdialysis enables evaluation of biological changes
that happen just there at the moment.
Pharmacodynamic(PD) markers are critically important to understand efficacy and mechanism of action. Samples (ex. brain interstitial fluid) can be serially collected from various tissues, such as brain, tumor, and etc, for analysis of PD markers by using microdialysis. In addition, Axcelead offers analysis of various molecules including monoamines, amino acids peptides, and proteins (ex. neurotransmitters, hormones, pathology-related proteins, inflammatory cytokines) .
Targeting a specific region of tissues of customer’s interest
- We can implant a microdialysis probe in any region of brain by referring to the brain atlas.
- By making full use of our rich experience and know-how, samples are collected through the microdialysis probes from various tissues/specific sites such as tumors to analyze PD markers.

More physiologically relevant evaluation by simultaneous analysis of PD marker and physiological changes in the same animal
- Electroencephalogram (EEG) and PD markers can be measured in the same animal at the same time by implanting the EEG electrodes very close to the microdialysis probe under free-moving conditions.
- Compounds and/or stimulants can be injected into intracerebroventricular or brain parenchyma at the same time as continuous sample collection by microdialysis by implanting an injection cannula.
